The Faces of Nomads

Maintaining an ancient, pastoral way of life, the nomadic members of the Bakhtiari tribe are the last of their kind in Iran. This series captures the lives of nomadic Bakhtiari tribe members over the course of 16 months.
The subjects in these photos are nomads living in locations in both Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province and Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran. Most photos were taken from the Kotok region, in rural Shimbar District, Khuzestan Province.
