Neyshabur Historical Homes

The city of Neyshabour has been one of the most important cultural and scientific centers and
birthplace of many scholars and poets and has been presented as a symbol of Iranian history
and culture. Some of the old houses in Neyshabour have been destroyed but there are people
who live in houses that are still remaining. Each architectural work reflects the lifestyle of
people of its historic period. Historical houses are one of the most significant cultural
symbols among other historical-cultural monuments, and since houses depict the shape and
type of human life people try to preserve them for next generations as these buildings are
being rapidly eroded throughout the Middle East over the last century.

Saeedi’s house and garden is from the late Qajar and beginning of Pahlavi periods. In this house, Abdullah Saeedi (son of Ibrahim Khan), a representative of the people of Neyshabur,in parliament of the National Assembly (from 1335 to 1339 AH) was living. The area of ??this historic garden is about 4 hectares and is a valuable example of Iranian garden, and consists of 2 houses in the center and the end of the garden. The decor of these 2 houses reminds the Qajar architecture of the first pillar.

Ghavami’s house belongs to the second Pahlavi era and now Mr. Hossein Zaeem lives in it.
Saeedi’s house in the village of Seedabad, Neishabur, belongs to the late Abdullah Saeedi (son of Ibrahim Khan), a representative of the people of Neyshabur during the 19th National Assembly (1335-1339). Saeedi’s house and garden in the village of Saeedabad belong to the Pahlavi era and now Azizi’s family live in this house

Meshkatian, a prominent musician and composer of Persian music, was born in Neyashobor in 1334, and taught from his father Hassan Meshkatian, a master of Santour, who was familiar with Violin and Setar, before the age of six. In 1973 he studied music at the Faculty of Fine Arts at University of Tehran. Parviz Meshkatian was one of the best performers of Iranian noble music and one of the founders of the mystic group, he died on September 29, 1996. The home is now useless.

The Vakili’house dates back to the late Qajar and early Pahlavi times, this house has two buildings and a centralyard. The house has a significant decorative and architectural design, but is currently in the form of a destroyed building and is being demolished, and the structure of the building is collapsing and the addicted go there to use drugs. This building was registered on the 11938th National Register of Public Works in 2005.
The mujtahid’s house belonging to the late Qajar period in the city of Neyshabur with an area of ??2000 square meters and underground, about 800 square meters, has two northern and southern parts, and30 years ago, the Ministry of Welfare and education was purchased the parts of of the house from the heirit of Hajj Sheikh Mojtahedi, and at the moment part belongs to that ministry and the other part belongs to the private sector. Despite the restoration of part of this mansion by the cultural heritage, another part is on the verge of destruction.
