Since the beginning of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in 1897, and until the present day, there have been two forms of life in the Gaza Strip. There is a normal, calm life which quickly turns into chaos with the start of any Israeli escalation. The Gazans are surrounded by siege and closed border crossings which has forced them to adapt to these circumstances and try to build a life amid war.
People find it difficult to watch their lives pass without realizing dreams for a future or the inability to fulfill their dreams in a city whose future is unknown. If you want to survive, you must get used to that life. War is no longer a scary or strange thing for Gazans – it has become a way of life. Gazans live in war, learn in war, celebrate your birth in war, and get married in war. Ultimately, Gaza is not just about war – it is about life, love and peace.
